Snap-8
Snap-8 is a synthetic octapeptide (CAS 868844-74-0) that functions as a competitive inhibitor of the SNARE complex by presenting the N-terminal sequence of SNAP-25 as a competitive decoy. In neuronal cell cultures, SNARE assembly is attenuated as the peptide outcompetes endogenous SNAP-25, reducing the docking and fusion of acetylcholine-containing vesicles in neuromuscular junction models. It is the primary tool compound for probing vesicle exocytosis mechanisms and SNARE protein pharmacology. Supplied lyophilized for in vitro research use only.
