MT-1
MT-1 (Melanotan I, afamelanotide) is a linear alpha-MSH analog (CAS 75921-69-6) modified with a Nle4, D-Phe7 substitution pattern that increases MC1R binding affinity and confers resistance to DPP-IV cleavage relative to native alpha-MSH. In melanocyte culture models it serves as the reference agonist for MC1R pharmacology and for probing the eumelanin synthesis pathway through the cAMP-MITF-MC1R cascade. Its linear architecture and focused receptor selectivity distinguish it from cyclic Melanotan 2 as a tool for isolating individual melanocortin receptor subtype contributions. Supplied lyophilized for in vitro research use only.
