KPV
KPV is the C-terminal tripeptide of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (Lys-Pro-Val, CAS 67727-97-3) and the minimal pharmacophore required for melanocortin receptor-independent anti-inflammatory activity. In intestinal epithelial and macrophage cultures, NF-kB nuclear translocation is suppressed and pro-inflammatory cytokine expression is reduced, while the potent MC1R pigmentation signaling characteristic of full-length alpha-MSH is absent. This separation of anti-inflammatory and melanogenic activity makes KPV a precise tool compound for gut epithelial signaling research. Supplied lyophilized for in vitro research use only.
