Epitalon
Epitalon is a synthetic tetrapeptide (Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly, CAS 307297-39-8) initially isolated from pineal gland extracts and structurally related to the natural peptide epithalamin. In human somatic cell cultures, hTERT upregulation has been documented alongside effects on melatonin synthesis enzyme expression in pinealocyte models, establishing telomerase biology and pineal-hypothalamic neuroendocrine signaling as its two primary research domains. Its defined four-residue structure makes it a tractable tool for probing minimal-sequence bioregulatory activity. Supplied lyophilized for in vitro research use only.
